It's also really awesome that you can make your phone personalized. Not only do you personalize your voicemail greeting, but you personalize your settings. This includes how your phone behaves when certain things happen. Vibrate, ring, buzz, sing a song, light up, the list goes on.

My favorite part of my phone is that I can customize the background wallpaper. I change the background every few days just to jazz up my phone so I remember how cool it is and how much I enjoy having it. The best part is, there are a number of great and easy ways to customize the background wallpaper on your mobile phone. You can create your own if you have the right software, and there are tons of great websites that offer free or very cheap downloads of wallpapers.

If you would like to create your own wallpaper, here are a few easy steps.

1) Create an image of some sort that you think will make a great wallpaper. Keep in mind the device you are creating the wallpaper for and do your best to size the art appropriately so that it fits the screen. You want the art to fill the screen at full resolution so that it will appear crisp, but you do not want to have to crop too much of the wallpaper art to where it is not visible.

2) Save the image to your hard drive as a JPeg image file with RGB color settings.

3) Load the JPeg image onto your cell phone or mobile device. Most phones have a photo library, this will be the best place to save the image on your phone.

4) All operating systems are a little different, but you will need to go to the Settings menu and select the Wallpaper section. From there you will be guided to selecting the image to use as your wallpaper background. Many phones will let you scale and scroll the image to where you would like the wallpaper to fit.

5) Save the wallpaper background and you are done.

Each screen size is different, so before creating and finalizing the image you should find out what the screen resolution is of the device. This screen size will be in the form of pixels. Obviously, screens range in size from large desktop screens, to tiny mobile phone screens.

An examples for what these numbers will look like would be 640x960, which is a very modern, high definition screen size for a mobile phone. The first number is the width of the screen in pixels, the second number is the height of the screen. So the screen size is 640 pixels wide by 960 pixels tall.

As stated before, there are many options for customizing your wallpaper background. You may have a photo you like that you think would make a great wallpaper. Using that image, follow the steps above to turn your photo into a wallpaper that will make your phone your own.

There are also a number of websites that offer free wallpapers for download, such as Digital Art Depot [http://digital-art-depot.com]. Many sites offer the wallpaper in different formats, so do a little research to exactly what size wallpaper you need to fit the screen you are wishing to add the image background to.
